Inserting (or Replacing) Batteries During cash register operations, all transaction data for the management report is stored in the register’s memory. The memory back-up system keeps this information stored in memory when the AC cord is accidentally disconnected or in case of power failure. The memory is protected by three standard AA (or SUM-3 or R6) batteries.
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Before the insertion, see the cautions below. Replace the battery compartment cover.
CAUTIONS: - Do not insert the batteries into the register with their plus (+) and minus (-) ends facing the wrong direction. To Load the Receipt Paper Remove the printer cover. Ensuring that the paper is being fed from the bottom of the roll, push the paper roll release lever in the arrow direction.
Replace the printer cover onto the register, as you pass the leading end of the paper through the cutter slot of the cover. Tear off the excess paper. To Load the Journal Paper Follow steps through in the procedure for loading receipt paper. Insert the leading end of the paper into the slit of the take-up spool and roll the paper a few turns.

I assume you are not a servicier man, so I can say one thing: NEVER PROCESS A MASTER RESET (or clear all)!!! Only technicians can understand the service manual! Printer settings, taxes, all will change, names of almost things will be erased. Prefer change a key you use very few (example: the last dept is rarely used) and assign the #id clerck value. Most cash registers are similar in operation when it comes to removing items from a sale (or after one). ERROR CORRECT, or ERR CORR, or EC will remove the last product you entered during a sale. You simply press it straight after the item button to reverse that item back into stock.

VOID (infinity symbol on Sharp), or VD is used to remove any item from a sale e.g if you have entered four items in a sale, you can remove the first item by pressing VOID, then the item button. REFUND, or RF, or RFND is your friend.
It can be used to reverse any item at any time during, or after a sale. Just press REFUND then the item to reverse it back into stock.
