Preform AV Enabler allows the group/raid leader to queue everybody for (first available) AV simultaneously with a button press. In addition, the group/raid leader can also force members with the addon installed to either leave the queue or join the majority's AV. A status window allows all those with the addon installed to view the current status of each other. The status window's information includes: if member's battlefield instance window is open or not, if they are queued, which AV they are queued for, which AV they received, which AV they are inside, and if they have deserter or not and its current duration. The automation feature allows for easy one-click activation of the queue/leave/join process. The group/raid leader need merely click the box and everybody can AFK until they all get the same AV. Lastly, the threshold option allows large raids to set an acceptable number of members to get the same AV before the signal to join is sent.
This AddOn is HORDE ONLY. Do not ask me to make it work for the Alliance, because I won't. To use, open the Alterac Valley instance list window up and click the Preform AV Enabler button.
Or type /preformav.
Is using Preform AV Enabler a bannable offence? I know it has been around for a while, but, it completely bypasses blizzard's battleground matchmaking system. I understand addons that change the UI and sounds, but changing a core mechanic of wow doesn't seem right. AVR was banned because It trivialized raid encounters. Preform AV Enabler trivializes battlegrounds, but still exists.
Antiarc's Poison Swapper was banned because it altered a class mechanic to give players the edge. Preform AV Enabler alters the Battleground queing system to give players the edge. Can someone please explain how Preform AV Enabler isn't broken yet. AVR wasn't banned because it trivialized raid encounters, they broke the addon because it would literally draw on the world which is against the rules. If it had just yelled out, puddles of bad in the middle of the room run to the edge, it would have been fine (as that is basically what addons like DBM do).
AV Enabler doesn't do anything that a coordinated group in vent could do, all it does is synchronizes the clicking of join queue for a bg, and with some luck, everyone will get into the same battleground because they joined about the same time. All of the players still must click the join queue button to get into the queue. I've done this alot even without the addon, when guild groups do it, someone just says in vent, click join queue in 3.2.1.now.
And it works almost everytime even without the addon. The poison swapper was banned because it was automation (a form of botting -as it automatically changed out weapons with no player input), which is against the rules.
Surely, a 'recently slain' debuff would fix this (much like the debuff of the same name that is applied in Wintergrasp): each time you are killed, you aren't worth any honor points to that enemy for a short duration, stacking if killed within that duration. Seeing as graveyard camping (probably) has negative feedback for all those involved (because of the 40-man HK premades at least), we could see the end of graveyard camping in whatever change they are going to roll out over this issue.
That would work, but these groups aren't going for the honor, but the HK's. I suppose they could make it so people do not afford a honourable kill when slain this way, but how would that interact with say, reinforcement values? That would work, but these groups aren't going for the honor, but the HK's. I suppose they could make it so people do not afford a honourable kill when slain this way, but how would that interact with say, reinforcement values? If you kill a target worth no honor, it does not count as an honorable kill (HK). Reinforcement values would still be affected. One death means one less reinforcement. Otherwise, people would be intentionally killing themselves before their 'Recently Slain' debuff wears off in order to protect their faction's reinforcement count.
About AV and it being a zergfest. The problem I see here involves the main goal of the BG (to kill opposing factions leader). Either: A: Remove the insta win bosses B: Make the bosses unattackable until you only have so many reinforcements left. Do one of those, DONT change the reinforcement system and oh man.
PvP WILL HAPPEN. Also, about AV enabler, I remember the days of actual premades. Damn they were fun, especially when your premade went against another premade (inb4 rated bgs lawl). If they removed their 'safeguards' a lot more people would start queing for BG's for fun rather than just honor grinding. EDIT: Also a suggestion to the que system, make the random bg give the bonus honor/conquest, and make another random bg que not give bonus honor or conquest and allow premades to que through those.
Problem solved and both parties are satisfied. About AV and it being a zergfest. The problem I see here involves the main goal of the BG (to kill opposing factions leader). Either: A: Remove the insta win bosses B: Make the bosses unattackable until you only have so many reinforcements left.

Typically blizzard deem anything their own addon architecture allows to be free-game, and won't ban anyone for simply doing what the game allows. However they will take steps if those actions being allowed are something players should otherwise be prevented from being able to do. Those steps usually being to simply remove the option, and maybe revert the gains as in 'cheated' raid firsts.
Inetpub in windows 7. AVR being such an example, so while I doubt users of the addon will be banned, it is likely that blizzard will take appropriate action to prevent it. Pardon my lack of knowledge as to how the addon works, but I assume it allows co-ordinated queueing to increase the likelyhood of a number of players to enter the same battleground.
If that is true then blizzard could perhaps add a randomised delay to any individuals/groups queue so decreasing the chance they will be selected for the same battleground. It's not a technological limitation. Back in the day you could queue entire full raids for BGs. They intentionally now limit it down to just a party of 5 because pugs get utterly DESTROYED by coordinated pre-made teams and it makes BGs unfun for them.
If you want to build a full team, you do the NEW rated BGs so you do pre-made vs pre-made to make it fair. Using addons to circumvent this, as in, more than 5 people queueing at the exact same moment to get stuck in the same BG together, is a big no-no as blizzard has already commented on.
This is not something that we are encouraging, but it is also something that we currently have no realistic way to prevent. That being said, this is something that may change soon, which is why we always advise people to not use any type of add-on designed to circumvent or bend our balancing safeguards. Using such add-ons can lead to severe account penalties!so basically blizzard dnt want you using an addon to have fun in pvp and they dnt really want to sort out the botting problem either another middle finger towards the pvp community thanks blizzard - Post added 2012-04-02 at 09:32 AM. For those that don't know what this addon is, please see below: Preform AV Enabler allows the group/raid leader to solo queue everybody (with this addon installed) simultaneously with a button press. In addition, the group/raid leader can also bring up a popup window for members with the addon installed to either leave queues or join the majority's battleground instance.
(This can no longer be completely automated due to API limitations from Blizzard) A status window allows all those with the addon installed to view the current queue status of each other. The status window's information includes: if a member's battlefield instance window is open or not and which battlemaster it is, if they are queued for any battlegrounds, which battleground instances they received, which battleground they may be in, and if they have deserter or not and its current duration. The automation feature will auto-queue the raid when everybody is ready, and auto-join or auto-leave queues depending on the threshold set. To use, open a battlemaster window and click the Preform AV Enabler button, type /preformav, or click 'Preform' on the menu that appears when right clicking the minimap battleground icon. I understand this addon has been around for some time, but its become much easier to use now that Real-ID battlegrounds have started to take shape. My question is, is Blizzard okay with this addon? Obviously they changed the queueing rules to 5-man limits for a reason, so does this addon subvert that?
Does it go against the spirit of play? Does blizzard have a stance on this? What are your thoughts? - Personally, I'm not sure. I would love to queue with 10 or 20 friends for BGs (hell, its frustrating everytime we have 6 and we can't all group together), but if blizzard removed this functionality, I think it shouldn't be subverted. I'd rather they just lift the restriction.
The addon facilitate queuing as a raid, but it doesn't do any miracles. All it does is queue everyone at the same time to increase the chances of getting the same game for everyone, and it says how many players got their queue to pop at the same time, indicating that they are probably in the same game. Don't see why Blizzard would be against using it, since the same could be done with a very organized group sincronizing queues over Ventrilo or similar. The reason it feels like a grey area as far as the rules go, is because Blizzard specifically removed the ability to queue in groups larger than 5. It could fall under subverting the rules to use other methods to work around it. 11:24 AMPosted by The reason it feels like a grey area as far as the rules go, is because Blizzard specifically removed the ability to queue in groups larger than 5.
It could fall under subverting the rules to use other methods to work around it. Can't you queue for BGs in any size group now using RealID? I've queued with RealID but always in a party of 4 or 5. Never had the sixth person available, but I thought that because you were in inviting to a party that it would follow the same limit. Would that mean you could have 10 people all from the same server, and they can queue together using RealID, but not by simply using /invite?

I remember a few years ago that you made this addon with only the ability for horde to use it and ally cannot. Is this still true? Also, as a Horde player, I have to admit that solo queing means 5-15 min ques these days, which is terrible, and almost completely nullifies the use of the addon.
But, on a positive note, what we have been doing for days when we don't do RBGs, we will get like 15 people together and que for AV. When only 15 people we have had pretty good luck on getting 15 of us into the same BG. While this is not as good as the old days of getting instant ques and being able to get in 35+ people in the same premade AV, 15 good people is more than enough to win with a perfection. Massive Honor and tons of classic AV fun. You rock man!
/prays for Horde BG ques to become less and less. Originally posted by Torrid01 Let me know if you have any trouble with it. I couldn't test it as much as I would have liked as even during prime time the only BGs with games running were random. I have found we still use it for AV on the weekends. We have successfully gotten in 10+ people in the same random dungeon, but we only try when the que times are short. Premades seem only possible for OTHER specific BGs when it is the holiday weekend, though there always tends to be at least 1 AV going on on weekends too.
Sadly, that means premades only Fri-Monday til Cataclysm week long holidays comes. Blizzard really isn't helping PVP, but from what I can tell they are trying to funnel everyone into the same BGs.
A practice that isn't really good for PVP as a whole, imo, as you are only limiting their options and forcing people to PVP in BGs they care less about. But, at least your addon helps get around some of that nonsense. Good work man! Actually I do 'connect here' and check comments to my addons and PMs almost every day despite not having played the game for months. Nobody told me that a patch broke my addon until two days ago.
And even though I am no longer playing the game (and indeed not have even used this addon in years) I am paying Blizzard $15 to resub and spending a couple of my nights to work on this for you. And if WoWI took down a derivative of my work recently, it was not at my request, although it would have been if I had seen it. I suggest you read up on copyright law if you think open source means 'I can see the code.' While the author doesn't connect here to update the addon, I made a correction that works with the new random battleground system.
It's a pity that no one could make an unofficial fork of this addon in this site. There was one of them posted here and WoW Interface erased it due an author's reclamation. Here's an update I made for my pals. You could download it here www.pvpfordummies.com/av.zip Only works for spanish and english people. If you want to have a translated version in your language you need to edit the localization file of your language and add these lines: PREFORMAVENABLERRANDOMABR = 'Rnd.'

; PREFORMAVENABLERRANDOM = '(insert here the exact name of the random battleground name)'; per example for spanish people you have to edit localization.es.lua and add these lines PREFORMAVENABLERRANDOMABR = 'Rnd.' ; PREFORMAVENABLERRANDOM = 'Campo de batalla aleatorio'; and save the file.

Originally posted by Tatterotts I don't mean to sound negative or say anything bad after all the work you've put in on this addon for so many, but is there any way that you can change the shape/size/layout/position of the 'your leader would like you to XXXX' menu? We used to use this addon to leave the queues of BGs we didn't go into after just using the standard group queue option, but last night we had someone clicking on 'ok' to leave a queue and an AB queue popped up at that exact moment and they accidentally joined it. Not the end of the world but maybe we could switch the location of the buttons so they were opposite so they would always just click where the 'hide' button would be on the default UI's screen of joining a BG. The popup dialogs are from Blizzard's code.
I intentionally added a warning (!) triangle to the popup box so as to make them more distinguishable from normal queue popups. This also makes the box wider. I'm not sure if the buttons are spread apart wider as well, but if they are you might want to click the leftmost edge of it or whatever.
I probably won't be changing this, because making my own custom popup system could (and probably would) create problems with them appearing over or under other frames in some UIs. UIs are designed around Blizzard's popups.
